
DECEMBER 31 UPDATE: Disney’s Avatar: Fire And Ash has crossed $7850m at the worldwide box office heading into its third weekend.
Latest figures released by studio executives on Wednesday (December 31) put the sci-fi tentpole on $851.6m, comprising $609.5m from international markets and $242.1m from North America.
China has produced $104.1m, France $63.9m, Germany $50.6m, South Korea $34.2m, and the UK $33.0m.
The third entry in James Cameron’s 16-year-old blockbuster franchise was on course to overtake Disney’s Lilo & Stitch on $614m on Wednesday to rank as the second-highest Hollywood release of 2025 internationally.
On Wednesday it will also overhaul the $869m final gross of Universal’s Jurassic World: Rebirth to become the fourth-highest global release. It ranks tenth in the North American pantheon.

James Cameron’s sci-fi epic stood at $101.8m in the territory as of December 30, contributing more than one-sixth of the $577.2m international running total. The tentpole from 20th Century Studios has amassed $805.1m worldwide and $227.9m in North America.
Latest territory highlights put Avatar: Fire And Ash on $58.9m in France, $46.9m in Germany, $33.1m in South Korea, and $30.5m in the UK.
The film currently ranks as the third-highest Hollywood international release of 2025, the fifth-highest at the global box office, and the tenth-highest in North America.
Disney stablemate Zootopia 2 has earned more than $561m in China.
