Black Bear International head John Friedberg and his team will launch AFM sales on psychological horror Immaculate starring Sydney Sweeney from The White Lotus and Euphoria.
Michael Mohen, who directed Sweeney in The Voyeurs, will direct from a screenplay by Andrew Lobel about Cecilia, a woman of devout faith who is offered a fulfilling new role at an illustrious Italian convent.
Her warm welcome to the picture-perfect Italian countryside is soon interrupted as it becomes clear that her new home harbours horrifying secrets.
Principal photography is set to commence in January 2023.
Sweeney and Jonathan Davino will produce for Fifty-Fifty Films alongside David Bernad (The Mule, The White Lotus), who developed the project with Sweeney following their collaboration on The White Lotus. Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler are also producing for Black Bear.
Black Bear’s Friedberg and Christopher Casanova will serve as executive producers with Will Greenfield (Euphoria). Principal photography will commence in January 2023.
Black Bear is fully financing Immaculate. CAA Media Finance and Paradigm handle US rights.
