EXCLUSIVE: Montreal-based h264 has boarded world sales and Canadian distribution rights to Metafilms’ drama Lay Me By The Shore starring newcomers Harris Lowe and Violet Dolejsi in the leads alongside British veteran Sean Harris.

Writer-director David Findlay is currently shooting in Vancouver and surrounding areas through September 5. h264 will be sharing details of the film with buyers attending TIFF.

Lay Me By The Shore is described as an expansion of Findlay’s short of the same name that premiered in Berlin Generation 14plus in 2022 and went on to screen later that year at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

The project follows a week in the life of Noah, a high school senior in the final days of school who is coming to terms with his best friend’s death as an uncertain future looms.

Metafilms is producing in association with Stellar International, Zauberberg Productions, Primo Content, and Solab Pictures. Sylvain Corbeil, whose credits include Universal Language and The Nature Of Love, serves as producer alongside Nicole Powell, Nathan Drillot, Findlay, and associate producer Aline Mayerhoffer.

Harris’s screen roles include the Mission: Impossible franchise, 24 Hour Party People, ’71, The Green Knight, and Paris Has Fallen.

h264 has handled sales on titles like Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person and Red Rooms.
