Remi Bigot, head of the film department for Cannes Critics’ Week, and German producer Maren Schmitt are among the international jury for the 8th edition of European Works in Progress in Hamburg.

Schmitt, one of the producers behind Cannes jury prize winner Sound Of Falling, and Bigot are joined by Simon Ofenloch, who works as a commissioning editor for the ZDF/ARTE’s fiction department.

Rounding out the jury is Beatrice Gulino, acquisition and distribution executive at Italy’s Teodora Film; Yuan Sui, co-managing director at German sales and production company Picture Tree International; and Aaron Kassaye, founder of Ethiopia’s first film distribution and sales company African Alliance Films.

This year’s EWIP takes place in Hamburg for the first time, during Filmfest Hamburg Industry Days (September 29 to October 1).

Up to 30 European film projects will be presented with the jury responsible for giving out prizes totalling a sum of €140,000 – an increase of €75,000 from last year.
