The partnership aims to promote co-productions between Europe and Russia following Russia’s admission to Eurimages in March this year.

The European Producers Club (EPC) has signed a partnership agreement with the Russian Cinema Fund (RCF) aimed at promoting Russian-European co productions. It comes following Russia’s admission into European co-production fund Eurimages earlier this year.

The European producers assocation and the Russian government initiative will jointly select 3 to 5 European projects seeking Russian partners. The RFC will match the projects with the right local partners or funding source, with the EPC providing assistance to projects right up until production.

The RCF may also present 3 to 5 Russian projects seeking European partners, with the aim of taking these projects at the Berlin Film Festival in 2012.

“Russia’s return to the international and European film industry relations confirms its desire to count as a real partner for the European nations,” said Chris Curling, president of the European Producers Club.
