Groundswell Productions founder Michael London, UTA agent Rich Klubeck and Mandalay Pictures’ Cathy Schulman will be among the panellists at Film Independent’s fifth annual Filmmaker Forum in October.

The weekend event takes place at the Directors Guild Of America in Los Angeles from October 9-11 and will feature a number of themed discussions about various aspects of independent film-making..

Aspiring film-makers will get the opportunity to meet with independent industry veterans and learn how to realise their film projects.

Other speakers include Valentino: The Last Emperor director Matt Tyrnauer, former WMi agent Rena Ronson, American Gun producer Ted Kroeber, Paradigm Consulting’s Peter Broderick, and The Nines writer-director John August.

This year’s keynote speaker, opening night film and additional panellists will be announced in the coming weeks.

The forum will conclude with the announcement of the Film Independent/Sloan Producers Grant recipient, which carries a production grant of $25,000.
