FilmSharks’ The Remake Co. label has closed deals on Argentinian comedy Ten Days Without Mom in several additional territories while Sony Pictures International Productions has renewed its option for Germany and Turkey.
New remake deals have closed with Nashe Kino in Russia, Athena in India, United King Films in Israel, and Vertigo in Hungary. FilmSharks has now licensed remakes in 13 territories based on Ariel Winograd’s 2017 comedy starring Diego Peretti and Carla Peterson.
In other deals, Conspiracao Filmes’ Brazilian remake of Nicolas Lopez’ Chilean romantic comedy Without Filter (Sin Filtro) will open through Disney, Argentinian erotic comedy Dos Mas Dos has been optioned by La Pirueta for Spain, and Fernando Lebrija’s Irreversible Cinema and Cielo Content have optioned Mexican remake rights on Uruguayan fantasy romantic comedy Ghosting Gloria (Muerto Con Gloria) from Marcela Matta and Mauro Sarcer, with the US, Germany and Spain also under discussion.
BH5 took Mexican rights to remake Hugo Cardozo’s Paraguayan horror Morgue and expects delivery late this year.
Guido Rud and his team are in discussions over the Disney-owned Patagonik catalogue. Talks are ongoing for English-language remake rights to Letters To Father Jacob, and Indonesian, US and Mexican remakes of Big Bad Wolves.
