Global Constellation animation ‘Charlie The Wonderdog’ with Owen Wilson sells for UK-Ireland, France and more

EXCLUSIVE: Global Constellation has landed a slew of deals for Shea Wageman and Icon Creative Studio’s Canadian superhero animation Charlie The Wonderdog, including Altitude for UK-Ireland.

Further deals are France (KMBO), Latin America (Cine Video y TV), and Hungary (FoxxMedia).

Owen Wilson leads the voice cast of the feature, which follows nine-year-old Danny and his dog Charlie. After an alien abduction, Charlie gains superpowers. The pair must thwart a diabolical plan by the neighbour’s cat and his canine sidekick to pollute the human food chain.

These deals join previously announced sales including Viva for the US and Cineplex for Canda, both releasing theatrically on January 16.

Wageman co-wrote the script with Steve Ball. The film is produced by Wageman alongside Carson Loveday through Icon Creative Studio, Canada’s largest independently owned CG animation company, with credits including Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures for Disney+.

Global Constellation was born out of a merger between UK-France Film Constellation and Germany’s Global Screen earlier this year and is part of the Vuelta group.
