The British Film Institute (BFI), British Film Commission (BFC), BAFTA, BBC Film, Film4 and Screen Scotland hosted a celebration of UK films and talent at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.

Remarks were given by Ian Murray MP, Minister of State in the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport after an introduction from Fouzia Younis, British Consul General to Toronto.
The event was attended by British filmmaking talent behind films in official selection at TIFF 2026. Attendees included: Mike Leigh, director of Tender Loving Care, Liam Neeson, producer of Lost Children Of Tuam, the teams behind UK films Masc, Ancestors, Faith and Salvation, as well as on screen talent India Amarteifio (Clarissa) and Inde Navarette (Obsession).
The BFI’s delegation of Black and Global Majority UK Producers also attended alongside representatives from UK industry.
