Kris Kristofferson is joining the cast of Dolphin Tale, Alcon Entertainment’s 3D family film for Warner Bros, currently filming in Florida.

Also featuring Harry Connick Jr, the fact-based film, directed by Charles Martin Smith (Air Bud) from a screenplay by Karen Janszen (A Walk to Remember), tells the story of an injured dolphin, the young boy that befriends it and the doctor who helps it swim again.

Alcon co-founders and co-CEO’s Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson are producing with the company’s president of worldwide marketing Richard Ingber, who brought the project to Alcon. Company head of development Steven Wegner and Robert Engelman are executive producers.

Kristofferson co-starred in the Blade trilogy and was recently part of the ensemble cast of He’s Just Not That Into You. He is represented by Brian Bunnin at ICM.
