EXCLUSIVE: Premiere Entertainment Group (PEG) will kick off sales in Cannes on Abla Films’ psychological thriller Adrift starring Lou Diamond Phillips from father-and-son directing team Tom Musca and Alexander Zeke Musca.
Phillips plays Benicio, a wheelchair-bound former big-wave surfer whose isolated life is disrupted when a migrant couple washes ashore on his remote Puerto Rican estate. What begins as an act of control quickly turns into a dangerous psychological game.
Tom Musca and Tim Sparks served as producers on Adrift, which shot in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Phillips and Tim Musca collaborated on Stand And Deliver, the 1998 gang drama co-eritten by Musca that was one of the actor’s most notable early roles.
Lizzy G. O’Connor brokered the deal on behalf of PEG with executive producer Jason Abla of Abla Films and will represent worldwide sales.
PEG recently wrapped production on the Salvadoran civil war epic Fireflies At El Mozote starring Paz Vega and is in pre-production on Love Unexpected starring Britt Robertson.
