Paris-based Memento Films International (MFI) has been racking up sales on footage horror picture S-VHS , the sequel to cult hit V/H/S.
So far, the picture has sold to Australia (Village Roadshow); Russia (Big Movie); Middle East (Falcon); Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Colombia (Energia Entusiasta); Singapore (Yellow Brick); and India (Pictureworks).
Prior to Berlin, WME, which represented North America, sold the film to Magnolia Pictures, which also distributed V/H/S.
MFI has also done good business on Polish director Melgorzata Szumowska’s gritty Golden Bear contender In the Name Of, about a young priest grappling with his sexuality, selling it to Israel (Lev Films), Turkey (Codex Media), Benelux (Wild Bunch), Spain (Abordar) and Germany (Salzgeber & Co).
