DRAGN

EXCLUSIVE: The international distribution of Peter Webber’s AI drone thriller DRAGN is taking shape as Myriad Pictures has reported major international territory sales.

Rights have closed in Australia (Eagle Entertainment), German-speaking Europe (Daro Film Distribution), Latin America and the Caribbean (Encripta), France (Program Store), South Korea (The Contents On), Japan (Aya Pro), Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland (Urania), and CIS and Baltic States (Red Castle Group / New Film People).

The story follows a young American man and his co-workers on a team-building retreat in Serbia who find themselves being hunted by a rogue AI military drone.

James Paxton, Lilly Krug, Carlos Bardem, Alice Pagani, Jadran Malkovich, Franz Drameh and Alex Lane star in the Puma In A Tank production in association with GM4U Productions.

Cineverse handled the US release and The Movie Partnership released in the UK.

Webber said, “DRAGN was always meant to travel. It’s a ride — loud, bloody, and not taking itself too seriously. We leaned hard into the gonzo spirit of the low-budget genre films I grew up on: practical effects, real gore, a creature built in a workshop not on a laptop.”

“We were impressed from the start with Peter Webber’s vision for this timely action thriller about an AI machine that goes rogue during a corporate retreat,” said Myriad Pictures president and CEO Kirk D’Amico. “That early confidence has been well placed — this has been a genuinely rewarding partnership with Puma in a Tank that continues to bring rich opportunities.”

Producer Lane added, “DRAGN was made fast, lean, and in one of the toughest genres to break out internationally, so seeing it pick up further distribution off the back of the US release is a real validation of the film and the team who made it.”
