EXCLUSIVE: Pinnacle Peak Pictures heads to Cannes with two completed films on its sales slate, hot on the heels of releasing The Last Supper in the top top at the North American box office.
Sports drama Little Angels stars Dean Cain from God’s Not Dead and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman as a top American football college coach who gets suspended after a publicity stunt with a female placekicker goes wrong, and is ordered to coach a girl’s football team in order to get his job back.
Cain directed from his screenplay, and produced with Heather O’Quinn (Bringing Back Christmas, Paul’s Promise) and Ryan O’Quinn (Paul’s Promise, Believe). The cast includes Helena Mattsson, Carla Jimenez, Torrance Coombs, and Juliet Donenfeld. The film screens on May 17 and will opened on June 6 on 200 screens through Pinnacle Peak.
Sci-fi action The Lightning Code is being sold by Pinnacle Peak affiliate Panoramic Pictures and stars Andy Reid (The Legend Of Van Dorn) as 18-year-old inventor who must stop a malign corporation from using a perpetual energy source. The cast includes Bruce Davison, René Ashton, K.C. Clyde, Rose Reid, Sienna Ribeiro, and Jason Marsden.
Kali Bailey wrote the feature with Rose Reid and directed. Producers are Jen Lewis and Joel Edwards. The Lightning Code opens on Friday on 200 screens through Pinnacle Peak.
Ron Gell, VP of international sales for Pinnacle Peak Pictures and Panoramic Pictures, said: “Both of our companies are having great years so far, and we are pleased to bring two theatrical films to our partners around the world. With the next World Cup tournament just over the horizon, and with science and ethics always a hot topic everywhere, we think Little Angels and The Lightning Code will be strong sellers.”
