EXCLUSIVE: Carlos Rincon and Vital Pictures’ new Los Angeles-based sales, financing, and production outfit Prestige International Pictures (PIP) has kicked off talks with international sellers in Cannes on one of its first titles, the 2024 TIFF revenge horror Seeds.

Kaniehtiio Horn from Alice, Darling directed and stars as a Mohawk woman hired as a social media influencer for a seed and fertiliser company who gets caught in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse to preserve her people’s heritage from corporate interests.

Dallas Goldtooth, Patrick Garrow, Meegwun Fairbrother, Dylan Cook, and Oscar nominated Graham Greene round out the key cast.

Leonard Farlinger and Jennifer Jonas produced with the participation of Telefilm Canada, while Eva Thomas, Laurie Venning and Horn served as executive producers. LevelFILM released the film theatrically in Canada last October.

“Kaniehtiio Horn has meticulously crafted a unique twist to the home invasion thriller genre by fusing subtle dark humour with terrifyingly gruesome moments and has established herself as a filmmaker to keep an eye on,” said PIP president Carlos Rincon, formerly of Premiere Entertainment Group, who negotiated the deal with Farlinger.

In addition to representing third-party titles, Prestige will represent the slate of in-house titles at Atlanta-based Vital Pictures, run by PIP partners, co-founders and producers Chris Lemos, Luis Guerrero, William Knochel, and Brad Friedlander.
