EXCLUSIVE: Prestige International Pictures (PIP) has commenced sales talks at AFM on the 1980s throwback teen fantasy horror Crom’s Fury.
Rob York directed from an original screenplay he co-wrote with Scott Baird about a man who must save his step-daughter from an ancient Irish monster with the help of her deadbeat boyfriend, while battling an army of slimy creatures that are running amok.
Colin Cunningham, Tanner Gillman, and Monica Moore Smith star, and Halem Medina, Ariana Bagley, Hailey Smith, Ben Lomu, Jasen Wade, Larry Beau, and Larry Bagby round out the key cast. The film shot in Utah and Ireland.
York produced Crom’s Fury for Firespire Productions and Jason Faller and Kynan Griffin served as executive producers for Arrowstorm Entertainment alongside Paul Shipper.
”Crom’s Fury is an exciting fantasy horror film, done with classic 80’s style humor and fun,” York said. ”There’s a lot of heart to it even as the characters face a horde of monsters; all brought to life using practical effects, puppetry and slime.”
“It’s exciting to team up with Rob once again on the sequel to Crom, which is bigger, better and badder (in a good way!),” Prestige president and co-founder added Carlos Rincon added. “I love Rob’s work as a filmmaker as he’s clearly influenced by many of the same ‘80s fantasy horror films that impacted me in my younger days such as Gremlins, The Gate, and Making Contact.”
Rincon negotiated the deal on behalf of Prestige with Rob York. The producers retain US distribution rights.
