Jeanie Finlay’s Glimmer Films and Emily Morgan’s Quiddity Films are among the latest recipients of UK Global Screen Fund awards, via the international business development strand.
The fund has made an additional 24 awards worth a total of £2.1m, bringing the strand’s total to £11m since launch.
Glimmer Films will use its film transformation award to establish Suzanne Alizart as creative producer and head of business affairs. Glimmer is a documentary-focused company, with credits including Your Fat Friend and All Rivers Spill Their Stories To The Sea.
Quiddity Films is using its funding to support a Latin America-focused strategy and to foster international partnerships and the hiring of a development exeuctive with Latin American experience. Quiddity has produced The Settlers and is in production on The Wolf Will Tear Your Immaculate Hands.
Awards are non-recoupable grants of £50,000 - £200,000, delivered via Film Transformation or General tracks. A new Challenger award of £50,000, aimed at earlier-stage companies, launched in April 2026.
Financed by the UK government’s Department of Culture, Media and Sport and administered by the BFI, the UKGSF launched in 2021 following the UK’s departure from the European Union.
The international business development strand is designed to help UK companies achieve new business partnerships, enhance their profile and reach in the global marketplace and increase revenue generation through export and international expansion. The overall UKGSF budget is currently £18m per year as part of its 2026-29 plan.
Fund applications are open, with international business development closing on June 11. Applications for international prints and advertising, and international distribution festival launch are assessed on a rolling basis.
