
Sony Pictures Classics has acquired its second film out of US Dramatic Competition at Sundance, taking worldwide rights to Stephanie Ahn’s award-winning feature directorial debut Bedford Park.
The company, which earlier in the week picked up worldwide rights to Ha-Chan, Shake Your Booty!, negotiated rights to Ahn’s drama with CAA Media Finance and Cornerstone Films on behalf of the filmmakers.
Bedford Park won the US Dramatic Special Jury Award for Debut Feature on Friday and centres on a woman, torn between loyalty to her Korean immigrant family and her own American identity, who forms a bond with an ex-wrestler battling his own fractured past.
The key cast includes Moon Choi, Son Sukku, Won Mi Kyung, Kim Eung Soo, and Jefferson White
Gary Foster of Krasnoff/Foster Entertainment produced with Chris S. Lee of B & C Group, Nina Yang Bongiovi of Significant Productions, Theresa Kang of Blue Marble Pictures, Son Sukku of Stannum, and Russ Krasnoff.
Executive Producers include Moon, Sungwon Jee, Yoon-Hyue Julia Kim, Clara Wu Tsai, Agnes Chu, Mark Gooder, and Alison Thompson.
