Sony Pictures Classics has acquired its second film at Sundance, taking worldwide rights to Stephanie Ahn’s award-winning feature directorial debut Bedford Park.
The company, which picked up worldwide rights this week to Ha-Chan, Shake Your Booty! earlier this week, swooped on its second US Dramatic Competition selection in a deal with CAA Media Finance and Cornerstone Films on behalf of the filmmakers.
Earlier on Friday (January 30) Ahn’s film won the U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award for Debut Feature.
It stars Moon Choi, Son Sukku, Won Mi Kyung, Kim Eung Soo, and Jefferson White in the story of a woman’s torn between loyalty to her Korean immigrant family and her own American identity, who forms a bond with an ex-wrestler battling his own fractured past.
