EXCLUSIVE: Heading into Cannes, Andrew Herwitz’s The Film Sales Company has acquired worldwide sales rights to Holocaust documentary This Ordinary Thing and horror thriller Thinestra.

Herwitz will screen both films twice, starting with This Ordinary Thing on May 13. Nick Davis directed the Al Tapper Productions feature that explores acts of selflessness and humanity exhibited by Europeans who risked their lives to house Jewish strangers during the Holocaust.

Featuring previously unseen archival footage, This Ordinary Thing brings the stories to life with the help of Jeremy Irons, Helen Mirren, F.Murray Abraham, Ellen Burstyn, Rufus Sewell, Lily Tomlin, Stephen Fry and other actors.

Styled as The Substance on Ozempic, Thinestra imagines a world not dissimilar from today in which quick weight loss drugs are readily available, but there is a price to pay.

Melissa Macedo, Michele Macedo, and Annie Ilonzeh star for Hitmakers Media. Nathan Hertz directed the film, which screens on May 14.
