The Match Factory has reported a “tremendous” response from AFM buyers to Jane Schoenbrun‘s upcoming Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma starring Gillian Anderson and Hannah Einbinder. The sales team have been at market hub The Fairmont in Century City showing a first promo from the feature, which is in post-production.

Schoenbrun’s follow-up to their 2024 Sundance selection I Saw The TV Glow follows the director of a slasher reboot who becomes obsessed with the reclusive actress who played the “final girl” in the original film as a new kind of slasher emerges from the bottom of the lake.

Plan B is producing and executive Daniel Bekerman of Scythia Films is providing local production services. Mubi is financing the film and will distribute in select territories including North America, Latin America, UK & Ireland, Germany, Austria, Benelux, Italy, Spain, Turkey, India, Australia, and New Zealand, with The Match Factory handles remaining worldwide sales.

Sales director Agathe Valentin said: “Buyer interest at AFM has been tremendous – the project is resonating strongly and has sparked a lot of conversation this week.”

I Saw the TV Glow earned six Independent Spirit Awards nominations and three Gothams nods. Schoenbrun’s first novel, Public Access Afterworld, will be published by Hogarth in 2026. They are also set to write, direct and serve as executive producer on the graphic novel Black Hole as a TV series for Netflix with Plan B and New Regency.

Anderson has won multiple awards in her career and credits include The Salt Path, Scoop, The Crown, Beak House, and The X-Files. Einbinder won the supporting actress Emmy this season for her recurring role opposite Jean Smart in HBO Max’s Hacks.
