‘The Matrix’ co-creator Lilly Wachowski and her company Anarchists United will serve as executive producer on the horror comedy Making A Bridesmaid, which UK-Belstone Pictures will introduce to buyers at the AFM (November 10-15).
Molly Ratermann wrote, directed and stars in the story of two outcast sisters, played by Ratermann and Emily Kincaid, who head to a bachelorette weekend that turns out to be a murder game.
741 Films and Ratermann’s Little Hand Productions serve as production companies and the film has just wrapped post-production after shooting in Lake Tahoe, California. Rounding out the ensemble are Serra Naiman, Wilder Yari, Alex Sgambati, Gina Su, Maya Butler, April Kelley, and Cynthia Aileen Strahan.
“Making A Bridesmaid is exactly the kind of bold, offbeat genre storytelling that excites us,” Anarchists United said “Molly Ratermann takes the familiar world of bachelorette culture and turns it into something wildly unpredictable, using horror and dark comedy to explore identity, social expectations and the pressure to belong.”
Executive producers are Justin Gray, Finn Bruce, Michael D. Whitfield, Sonny Marler, Keith Rosmarin, Darren Cogan and Emily Kincaid. Finn Bruce and Belstone Pictures represent global sales.
