EXCLUSIVE: UK filmmaker Jack Spring’s Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint has been picked up for UK-Ireland by Signature Entertainment, from WestEnd Films.

A first-look image has also been unveiled. 

The festive comedy will be released theatrically in UK-Ireland around Christmas of this year, with a cast including John Bradley, Celia Imrie, Richard E Grant, Adjoa Andoh, Jim Broadbent and Sophia Di Martino.

A reclusive model soldier painter who despises Christmas is sentenced to community service at a struggling retirement home, and is reluctantly drawn into directing a chaotic, resident-led production of A Christmas Carol.

Adrian Rawlins, Karl Pilkington, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Nigel Planer, Ann Mitchell, Dave Johns, Dustin Demri-Burns, Harriet Webb and Beau Thompson also star. 

UK producers are Andy Brunskill for Sums Film & Media alongside Spring’s Shush Films.

Damian Jones and Paul Grindey of Viewfinder serve as executive producers, along with Shush’s Andrew Pettit, CPR Entertainment’s Craig Hemmings and Rick Guard, Miles Gooseman, Steven J. Toll and Randy Jones Toll, an Warner Group Media’s Mark Warner, Lise Abraham, Simon White and Ian McCulloch. The film is also produced in association with US’ BYUtv.

Spring’s directing credits include heist comedy Three Day Millionaire starring Colm Meaney.
