EXCLUSIVE: UK production company Somesuch has hired Caitlin Leydon as head of development.
Leydon will work with film executive Scott O’Donnell across Somesuch’s expanding film and TV slate.
Leydon joins from Number 9 Films, where she was senior development executive, working across film and TV development, on films including The Assessment, The Salt Path and A Pale View Of Hills. Prior to that, she worked in the books department at Curtis Brown, and has produced independent short films.
“I am delighted to be joining Scott and the brilliant team at Somesuch, whose bold work and vision I have long admired,” said Leydon. “With their focus on original and distinctive filmmaking, and a roster of talented directors, it’s an exciting prospect to help shape and grow Somesuch’s already impressive film and TV slate.”
“We couldn’t be happier to have Caitlin join us at Somesuch,” said O’Donnell. “Her impeccable taste and keen eye for talent make her an important part of Somesuch’s plans to build on the success we’ve had in film so far.”
Founded in 2010 by Sally Campbell and Tim Nash, Somesuch established its feature film division led by O’Donnell in 2023. It produced Harris Dickinson’s Cannes 2025 title Urchin and Leo Leigh’s Sweet Sue, and is in post-production on Beatrice Gibson’s BBC Film-backed At Night.
Last year Screen named Somesuch as Ones to watch in its Brit 50 feature of the top UK independent film production companies.
