National GeographicFilms (NGF) has taken a partnership stake in Christopher Quinn and Tommy Walker'sSundance Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award winner God Grew Tired Of Us.

The company will provide finishing funds ahead of the North American releasethrough Newmarket Films and will integrate its programme resources, audienceoutreach and multiple media platforms into the worldwide marketing campaigns.

Nicole Kidman narrates the story of three young Sudanese immigrants as they tryto adapt to life in the US.

"From the moment we saw it we wanted to be involved, not just domestically, but internationally," National Geographic Films president Adam Leipzig said.

"Its subject is close to the hearts of National Geographic's loyal worldwideaudience, and our in-depth collaboration will enable the film to reachmoviegoers around the world in a way no other partnership could.

Leipzig structured the deal with William Weil, executive vice president ofstrategy at marketing at entertainment group National Geographic Ventures, andNational Geographic Films' vice president of acquisitions and production KattieEvans.

National Geographic Films co-presented March Of The Penguins with Warner Independent Pictures in North America,which went on to gross more than $77m at the domestic box office.
