Investors in Australian title The Wiggles Movie are considering taking legal action against production company Gladusaurus Productions, manager Movieco Australia, the promoter, and perhaps the distributor 20th Century Fox, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
The article reports that only about 13% of $964,000 (A$1.6m) in production funding has been returned to the film's 50 investors. The film grossed $1.6m (A$2.6m) from its theatrical release in Australia and sales agent Beyond Films earned $765,000 (A$1.27m) from international sales. The band The Wiggles is highly popular in Australia with very young children.
