The UK's producers group Pact has clarified some plans as part of its recently announced restructuring.

The group poined out that its overall numbers of staff will be reduced by more than half in the restructuring. The remaining Pact employees will shift their emphasis to work on two revised core propositions: policy and business affairs.

Pact now says that other services, including training and large events, will be reallocated or outsourced. Pact is in discussions with The Independent Training Fund about the future of its short courses and In.Indie scheme. As for events, Pact will continue to oversee the UK Indie pavilion at MIPTV and MipCom while an outside events company will manage the logistics.

The Pact team will work on projects alongside member expert groups, with Pact employees no longer dedicated to one specific section of membership (film, TV, interactive, etc.)

The Pact Council, which is elected by members, put forward the new strategy to Pact management at the end of 2007.
