Pang Ho Cheung's The Bus picked up the HAF Award for best Hong Kong project at the close of the Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF)today (March 19).

Chinese director Ning Hao's 7 Dreams won the HAF Award for best project from outside of Hong Kong. Both awards, which are based on the creativity of the synopsis, came with a cash prize of $13,000 (HK$100,000).

Meanwhile, Chinese female filmmaker Tang Xiru picked up the $15,000 Rome Film Fest Award for her project Fugitive Club, which she is producing with Daniel Yu and Rosa Pang. The prize goes to a project that demonstrates the best of innovative talent by an Asian filmmaker and is selected by representatives of the Rome Film Festival.

In addition, two Technicolor Thailand Awards went to Hong Kong filmmaker Carol Lai Mui-suet's Shuffle and Thai director Nonzee Nimibutr's Secret Of The Butterfly. Both prizes come with in-kind services to the value of $15,000 for projects that are willing to complete their post-production in Thailand.

The sixth edition of HAF attracted over 900 participants and arranged over 500 project meetings. It takes place at the same time as Filmart which wraps tomorrow (March 20).
