The world premiere of Wai Ka-fai’s Hong Kong drama Written By will open the New York Asian Film Festival, set to run from June 19-July 5

The film centres on the death of a lawyer, which inspires his daughter to write a book where she imagines that he has survived. It sets in motion  endlessly recursive sequence of re-writes. Ka-Fai is a regular writer for director Johnnie To.

The world premiere of Sion Sono’s Japanese drama Be Sure To Share will close the festival. It stars Japanese popster Akira in what is styled as a meditation on death.

The World Premiere of Vampire Girl Versus Frankenstein Girl is the centerpiece presentation from Yoshihiro Nishimura and Naoyuki Tomomatsu.
