The Pusan Promotion Plan (PPP) has announced the line-up for its tenth anniversary edition. 35 projects from 18 countries have made the final cut, out of more than 200 submissions.

Once again the PPP mixes masters and newcomers, including Cannes Camera D'Or winner Bahman Ghobadi, Berlinale Silver Bear winner Wang Xiaoshuai, and up-and-coming Vietnamese filmmaker Phan Dang Di.

The line-up also includes works from producers like Terence Chang, Peter Fudakowski - who produced the Academy Award-winning Best Foreign Language Film Tsotsi, and former PPP director Tsai Ming-liang.

PPP notes that this year it has projects from Armenia and Nepal for the first time. Projects from women directors are steadily increasing, as are co-productions between Asian and non-Asian countries.

Launched in 1998 as a project market to discover and support Asian independent film projects, the PPP brings filmmakers to Busan during the Pusan International Film Festival to explore financing and co-production opportunities with film industry professionals from around the world, and has since opened its selection to non-Asian projects as well.

Past PPP projects include Alexi Tan's Blood Brothers, which is closing this year's Venice film festival, and Lee Kang-sheng's Help Me (a.k.a. Help Me Eros), also to be screened in Venice in competition.

The co-productions market has partnerships with Rotterdam's CineMart, HAF (Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum), and the Producer Network of Marche du Film of Cannes, as well as a project exchange agreement with IFP's No Borders International Co-Production Market. The Goteborg International Film Festival Fund that supports filmmakers from the third world is one of the PPP 's sponsors, and also offers a $5,000 cash award.

As part of the Asian Film Market, the PPP will run Oct 8 - 11.
