UK producer Sarah Radclyffehas optioned 10-book children's fantasy series The Edge Chronicles.

Jigsaw Films, the productionlabel for family films that Radclyffe runs with Courtney Pledger and BillGodfrey, aims to turn the series into a studio-level family action-adventurefranchise.

The story of a younglibrarian knight, which Jigsaw optioned with support body the UK Film Council,has sold one million copies in the UK and entered the children's bestsellerlist in the US in under two weeks. Author-illustrators Paul Stewart and ChrisRiddell are drawing out a map to see where the first film will come from in thecomplex storyline.

At the other end of thekid's scale, Radclyffe is developing Everything On A Waffle, based onPolly Horvath's book about an orphaned girl from a Canadian fishing village.

The roughly $10m project hasMark Herman, whose credits include Little Voice and Brassed Off,attached to direct from his own script.
