New Line's The Lord OfThe Rings: The Return Of The Kingpassed $90m in Japan at the weekend (24) as it added $602,770 on 330 screensover two days for a superb $90.4m running total in its 11th week.
Released through NipponHerald, The Return Of The King performedfar better than trilogy predecessor The Two Towers, which grossed just over $65m in Japan.
Overall The Return Of TheKing grossed a little over $1m on1,252 screens in 39 markets for a $735.6m international cumulative total.
Combined with its $376m-plusdomestic gross, the picture has amassed $1.1bn worldwide.
