The Matrix Revolutions slowed down in its international run over its third weekend in theatres, taking an estimated $21.5m in 94 territories for a cumulative total to date of $230.2m.

It appears that the film will stop considerably short of the $454m international total scored by its predecessor Reloaded.

In Japan, the third weekend drop was just 16% to an estimated $4.7m to bring its territory total to $35.87m, but in other key territories it fell much faster. In the UK, it grossed $1.9m, a drop of 55%, to bring its total to $26.18m; in France, it grossed $2.3m, down 44% from the previous weekend, for a total of $21.8m; in Germany, it grossed $1.18m, a drop of 57%, to bring its total to $14.56m; in Spain it fell 52% to gross $1.15m and a total of $11.4m and in Italy, it fell 52% in its third weekend to take $1m and a total of $11.5m.

In North America, the film fell 59% in its third weekend to gross $6.7m and a 19-day total of $125m. The domestic gross of Reloaded stands at $281m.
