Frank S Rittmanhas been named vice president, regional legal counsel, Asia-Pacific and deputyregional director, Asia-Pacific, at the Motion Picture Association of America(MPAA).

Rittman will serve as the MPAA's regional spokesman on legalissues and will manage legal aspects of the organisation's regional operations,encompassing free trade agreements, "fair use" legislation, and anti-piracy andcommercial litigation.

He will also be responsible for supervising legal issues andactivities in 13 countries and territories throughout Asia-Pacific where theMPAA maintains offices.

Rittman willcontinue to work out of the MPAA's regional headquarters in Singapore and willsupport regional director Mike Ellis in developing strategic anti-piracyapproaches. He joined the MPAA as director, Far East & Australasia inSeptember 2001.
