Joel Schumacher willdirect Gold Circle's upcoming supernatural thriller Town Creek, with Lionsgate on board for domestic and MandatePictures handling international rights.
Production is set to begin on Mar 1 2007 on the story of former abductee andhis brother who return to the site of the kidnapping and become trapped in anoccult experiment that has remained hidden from view since the 1930s.
Dave Kajganich wrote the screenplay and Gold Circle's Paul Brooks will producewith Tom Lassally of 3 Arts Entertainment and Robyn Meisinger.
Gold Circle's Scott Niemeyer and Norm Waitt will serve as executive producers.The company's senior vice president of production Zak Kadison, who brought inthe project, will co-produce and shepherd through production.
Schumacher is currently in post-production on The Number 23 starring Jim Carrey, which New Line will release inearly 2007.
Kajganich recently wrote the screenplay to Warner Bros' upcoming alieninvasion thriller The Visitingstarring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig.
Gold Circle's credits include the romantic comedy Griffin And Phoenix, which gets its world premiere here at the festival,as well as the supernatural thrillers Whisper and White Noise 2, which will be released through Rogue Pictures.
