Screen Yorkshire, Northern Film and Media and Skillset are launching a new national talent development initiative aimed at encouraging writers, directors and producers to develop new working relationships.

The Triangle scheme was initially piloted last year to benefit film-makers from the North of England, but is now open to talent across the UK.

The 11 month programme will be open to 75 participants and over the next year will be reduced down to four teams of three who will pitch their projects to an industry panel at the BFI London Film Festival.

A series of workshops and seminars along with intensive support from industry mentors will support the teams as they develop their projects to be market ready. It is funded through Skillset’s Film Skills Fund.

Industry mentors in Triangle 2011 came from Revolver, Salt, BFI, The Works, E1, Vertigo and Film4.

Screen Yorkshire recently launched its £15m Yorkshire Content Fund.
