The roster of narrative special screenings comprises the national holiday anthology Holiday Road, Pema Tseden’s Tibetan-set Chinese drama Old Dog and Bryn Higgins’ UK psycho-love story Unconditional.

The documentary selection entries are Neil Young Journeys from Jonathan Demme, No Room For Rockstars by Parris Patton, Terra Blight from Isaac Brown, Wild In The Streets by Peter Baxter and With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story.

“This year’s Special Screenings in every way represent the maverick spirit of Slamdance, from Jonathan Demme’s documentary Neil Young Journeys, to the premiere of a never before seen Ed Wood television pilot, and the poetic realism of Tibetan filmmaker Pema Tseden’s Old Dog,” Slamdance president and co-founder Peter Baxter said.

”If you want to see the truest representation of bold, independent filmmaking, Slamdance is the place to be.”

Ed Wood’s Lost Film Final Curtain from the man himself is among the shorts selection, as are Jordan Brady’s Harold’s Bad Day and Dariush Nehdaran’s Dances With The Armchair.

Slamdance is set to run from Jan 20-26, 2012. For the full selection visit the official website.
