Spanish distribution house Sogepaq has restructured its executive staff following the July departure of former head of international sales Eva Diederix, now with UGC in France.
Simon de Santiago has been appointed deputy director of distribution for Sogepaq and sister production company Sogecine. Previously head of Canal Plus Guiones, a script development program also housed in Sogepaq umbrella body Sogecable, de Santiago will report to director of distribution Jacques Roldan.
Sophie de Mac Mahon and Veronica Roldan have simultaneously been appointed sales executives, with de Mac Mahon taking a more active role in international festivals and markets.
Sogepaq's current international sales roster is headlined by San Sebastian International Film Festival competition entry Mondays In The Sun (Los Lunes Al Sol). A production of Elias Querejeta and directed by Fernando Leon (Barrio, Familia), Mondays stars Javier Bardem in his first performance following his best actor Academy Award nomination for Julian Schnabel's Before Night Falls.
Other new titles on the company's fall slate include Spanish box office hit Box 507 (La Caja 507) and recent Montreal competition entry Carol's Journey (El Viaje De Carol).
