Sony Pictures Entertainment has closed its acquisition of Dutch entertainment company 2waytraffic.

The company works on games, variety and reality shows.

'The acquisition of 2waytraffic is part of our strategy to expand global production and distribution of light entertainment content,' said Michael Lynton, chairman and CEO of SPE. 'This opens the door to new content for us, and brings to our business a solid distribution infrastructure, strengthening our position for an efficient roll-out of formats internationally.'

Kees Abrahams, CEO of 2waytraffic, will keep his post as the company becomes a subsidiary of SPE. He will report to a board comprised of executives from 2waytraffic and SPTI.

The company will remain based in Hilversum, the Netherlands. The company works across television, mobile and digital platforms.
