Like the formidable band of Spartan warriors that holds off a massive
invading army in the film, Warner Bros' 300 resisted the advances of a
wave of new releases to stay top and cross $125m.

The effects-heavy action epic added an estimated $31.2m following last
weekend's record March launch and now stands at $127.5m.

Buena Vista's comedy Wild Hogs remained in second place and crossed
$100m in its third weekend as $18.8m raised the running total to
$103.9m.

The best performance from the new films came from the psychological
thriller Premonition starring Sanda Bullock, which opened through
TriStar Pictures in third place on $18m.

Universal's horror tale Dead Silence opened fourth on $7.8m, followed
in fifth place by Chris Rock's Chloe In The Afternoon adaptation I
Think I Love My Wife, which took $5.7m for Fox Searchlight.

Bridge To Terabithia fell three places to sixth in its fifth weekend
and stands at $74.9m, while Sony's Ghost Rider ranks seventh on
$110.2m after the same amount of time.

Norbit is bearing down on $100m for Paramount and ranks ninth on
$92.4m after six weekends. Warner Bros' romantic comedy Music And
Lyrics is fading fast after five, and ranks tenth on $47.4m.

Next weekend's wide releases are: Paramount's thriller Shooter,
starring Mark Wahlberg; Warner Bros' animated adventure TMNT, featuring
the voices of Chris Evans, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Zhang Ziyi; Fox
Searchlight's horror sequel The Hills Have Eyes II with Jessica
Stroup; New Line's children's fantasy The Last Mimzy, starring Chris
O'Neil and Rhiannon Leigh Wryn; and Sony's drama Reign Over Me,
starring Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle.
