LA-based Spirit HorseEntertainment, run by Michelle Hartly and Shari Hamrick, has announced plans tobuild a new film, TV and commercial production studio facility south of LosAngeles in San Marcos.

The studio, designed to havea fully operational backlot and six sound stages, is being developed byAlliance Holdings, a group consisting Spirit Horse, New Cathay Pacific and realestate firm TransPacific Development. Alliance is currently under contract withJim Ambroso of Allied Waste/AWIN for the purpose of transforming what waspreviously San Diego's North County Resource Recycling Facility into thestudio.

The 190,000-square-feetfacility is already being used as a shooting space even in its unfinishedstate.

"Once construction iscompleted we look forward to becoming home to top digital companies and indielabels. This is going to be a great space for television and featureproduction people to hang their shingles," said Hamrick in a statement.
