Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) has sealed a video-on-demand (VoD) licensing deal with South Korean mobile operator, SK Telecom.

Under the terms of the agreement, a selection of SPTI's films and TV series will be offered on-demand and in full-length to SK Telecom mobile customers via its mobile platforms NATE and June. The deal makes SPTI the first US studio to offer its content on SK Telecom's platform.

Titles covered by the deal at launch include all three films in the Spider-Man franchise, Kung-fu Hustle, Surf's Up and Emmy-nominated TV series The Tudors.

'Mobile technology is evolving and the way of consuming video content is changing fast. These changes are expected to encourage more and more customers to watch movies and dramas on their mobile phones,' said Soo Hyeok Lee, vice president, Music Business Office at SK Telecom.
