Hong Kong-based Golden Network Asia has picked up worldwide rights outside Asia to martial arts epic An Empress And The Warriors from United Filmmakers Organization.

Hong Kong's Mei Ah Entertainment is handling Asian sales on the film, directed by action choreographer Tony Ching Siu-tung and starring Donnie Yen, Kelly Chen and Leon Lai.

Beijing-based Polybona released Empress on March 7 in China, grossing $2.8m (RMB20m) in its first weeked. Golden Harvest will release the film in Hong Kong on March 20.

Distribution deals have also been concluded with Group Power Workshop & Mei Ah (Taiwan), United Home Entertainment (Thailand), Mei Ah Entertainment and Dream Movie (Singapore), Grand Brilliance (Malaysia), Vietnam Media (Vietnam), K & Entertainement (South Korea) and PT Teguh Bakti Mandiri (Indonesia), Showbox Media Group (UK), Splendid Film (Germany/Benelux), CP Digital (CIS), Epelpol Entertainment (Poland) and Nordeste Distribution (Brazil.)
