The FIPRESCI prize for the international competition went Inland (Gabbla) by Tariq Teguia. Inland is about present-day Algeria, through the experiences of a surveyor sent to areas affected in the past by terrorism.
Goodbye Solo is a project from Lucky Hat Entertainment, Gigantic Pictures and Noruz Films. It marks is the third film from Chop Shop and Man Push Cart writer-director Bahrani.
The story is about a Senegal-born taxi driver in North Carolina who strikes up an odd friendship with an elderly, suicidal Southern man.
