Patricia Clarkson will receive the ShoWest Independent Award For Excellence In Acting at the Las Vegas event on April 2.

Clarkson is honoured for what ShoWest co-managing director Mitch
Neuhauser called 'a diverse resume that includes work on stage,
television and the big screen' that had earned her 'great accolades
and success around the world.'

Clarkson stars in Woody Allen's comedy Whatever Works, which will open Tribeca on April 22 and will be released through Sony Pictures
Classics on June 19.

She will also be seen later in the year in Martin Scorsese's thriller
Shutter Island opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, and Michelle
Williams and plays the lead in Ruba Nadda's romance Cario Time.

Clarkson earned a supporting actress Oscar nomination for Pieces of
April
in 2004 and her film credits include The Untouchables, The
Station Agent, Far From Heaven, The Green Mile,
and Good Night, And
Good Luck.
