Bac Films International has sold Carlos Reygadas' Cannes prizewinner Silent Light to the newly revitalized Tartan Films for the US. Tartan had previously handled the US on Reygadas' Battle In Heaven.

Bac has also sold the film to Canada (Seville), Spain (Golem), Benelux (Lumiere), Switzerland (Look Now), Greece (Strada), Denmark (Ost For Paradise), Russia (Intercinema), Poland (Gutek) and Norway (Arthouse). Italy and Germany are expected to close soon.

Reygadas' third feature after Japon and Battle In Heaven, Silent Light is a tale of infidelity and spiritual crisis set in a Mennonite Community. Chosen as Mexico's Oscar candidate, it has won several festival prizes since Cannes, among them the Golden Hugo in Chicago, a Firpresci Prize in Rio, and a Best Film award in Bergen.

As has already been announced, Tartan will also be releasing Silent Light in the UK.
