Thailand's M Pictures has acquired three titles from Nu Imageat the Bangkok Film Market, including DayOf The Dead, the remake of George A Romero's classic horror.

The company has also snappedup action titles End Game, directedby Andy Cheng, and Isaac Florentine's Undisputed2, which are both set to open in Thailand later this year.

M Pictures, formerly knownas Nontanund Entertainment, is one of the two biggest distributors in Thailand for big-budget English-language films, along withSahamongkol Film International. The company, which was bought out by Thailand's leading exhibitor Major Cineplex at the end oflast year, is headed by CEO Anont Asvanund who aims to release 50 titles thisyear.

Last week, Asvanund pickedup five titles at the European Film Market in Berlin including NineMiles Down from Seven Arts, TheWaiting from Mandate Pictures and BloodTrail from Imagination Worldwide, along with two Korean films from CJEntertainment - King And The Clownand City Of Violence.

The Bangkok Film Market hasbeen quiet since it kicked off on Monday, partly due to timing as this year itfollowed straight on from the EFM in Berlin. The market, now in its third edition, is scheduledto run until Friday (Feb 24).
