Laurent Cantet's Palme D'Or winner The Classis Asia-bound. Here at the AFM, Paris-based sales agent Memento Films International hasclosed a Japanese deal with Tokyo Theatres and is reporting interestfrom Singapore and Thailand.

Cantet's film, about a teacher in a high school in a tough part of theParis suburbs, was one of the sensations of this year's Cannesfestival. In the summer, Sony Pictures Classics took the North Americanrights as well as rights to Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. The filmhas already been sold to over 60 countries.

Alongside the Japanese deal on The Class, Memento has also closed a deal on Wendy And Lucy to Falcom in The Middle East.
