IM Global chief Stuart Ford has closed key territories on Oren Peli's supernatural shocker Paranormal Activity following a packed market screening on Thursday night.

Rights have gone to Icon for the UK, Australia and New Zealand,Metropolitan for France, Svensk for Scandinavia and RCV for Benelux.

Deals closed with Korea Screen in South Korea, Village Roadshow inGreece, Golden Village in Singapore and Eco Films in Portugal.

Ford said multiple offers were on the table for Germany, Italy andJapan and in a novel twist added he was in talks on local-languagesequel rights with buyers from Russia, Japan and South Korea. He plansto unveil director Peli's next project Area 51 before the end of themarket.

DreamWorks holds North American rights to Paranormal Activity, which screened at Slamdance earlier this year and tells of a couple haunted by a demonic spirit.

More than 550 people including 200 buyers packed out Thursday's screening at the Laemmle 4 theatre in Santa Monica.
