Tribeca Film festivalorganisers have unveiled the NY, NY Narrative Competition and NY, NYDocumentary competition strands as well as the Narrative Feature FilmCompetition and Documentary Feature Film Competition programmes.

Boasting 24 world premieres,the two NY, NY strands entries cover a range of subjects from post 9/11 griefto slapstick comedy to tales of urban gentrification and portraits of New Yorkicons.

NY, NY narratives entriesinclude Jeff Winner's Satellite,a provocative romance inspired by the films of the French New Wave, and JayAlaimo's drama Slingshot starringDavid Arquette and Balthazar Getty as manipulative drifters in North America.

NY, NY Documentaries includeJohn Kirby's The American Ruling Class, Joseph Lovett' s Gay Sex In The 70s, and Victor Buhler's Rikers High, about a high school for inmates at Riker's Island,the largest correctional facility in North America.

The narrative anddocumentary feature film competitions include 10 world premieres. Narrativetitles include Ahmet Ulucay's Turkish family comedy Boats Out Of WatermelonRinds, Ciro Alfonso Guerra'sColombian drama Wandering Shadows,a melancholic account of two strangers whose lives are transformed by a chanceencounter, and Gidi Dar's Israeli drama Ushpizin, about a poor family whose hospitality is tested bythe arrival of two friends who happen to be escaped convicts.

Documentary competitionentries include Eric Bergkraut's Coca - The Dove from Chechnya, Nahid Persson's ProstitutionBehind The Veil, and Peter Forgacs' ElPerro Negro: Stories From The Spanish Civil War.
