Pam Engel and Robert Beeson's new UK distribution company New Wave Films continues a busy Cannes by acquiring UK rights to Atom Egoyan's Competition entry Adoration.

Charlotte Mickie at Maximum Films International is selling the film. Sony Pictures Classics has already taken rights for the US and several other territories.

The Canadian production is about an adolescent boy who reinvents himself online but draws the attention of the authorities. The cast features Rachel Blanchard, Devon Bostick, Noam Jenkins, Arsinee Khanjian, Scott Speedman and Kenneth Walks.

New Wave's earlier Cannes selection acquisitions include Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Three Monkeys, the Dardennes' The Silence Of Lorna (both pre-bought in Berlin) as well as another competition title picked up this week, Jia Zhangke's 24 City.
